Look and Feel: Microvelvet?I have owned the Jaxx Sofa Saxx 7-Foot Giant Bean Bag Lounger for about a month and use it regularly. To start with, I really agonized over this purchase. As several reviewers have mentioned, once this product is unboxed it is not going back as a return without a lot of effort. The issue I had is that the microvelvet cover option is a full hundred dollars more than similarly sized beanbag sofa products, and I had a tough time deciding between microfiber and microvelvet. The lighting in the photos is helpful, but can be deceptive because there is a lot of work done in staging to have the light play off the fabrics. This beanbag is in my living room as a sofa substitute, and I needed it to look like it belonged in a room as actual furniture and not a novelty.Given the number of questions I have that initially kept me from making this purchase, I wanted to write a review that addressed some of those all in one place. What solved it for me on the fabric question was that Jaxx carries this product in both fabrics, and the microvelvet was pictured with a much richer texture. In person it does look like suede, except for it is much softer. Being able to compare photos with products from the same manufacturer was very helpful. If the texture is an issue that is factoring into your purchase decision, I found it to be worth the money to pay for the microvelvet upgrade. I can say that the product I have looks like the pictures and is true to size and color. The cover I own also has a 1" flap to cover the zipper so the product looks like a piece of furniture, just very casual furniture.Setup and Product Size:The 7' product was delivered in two boxes. One was larger than the other, and both were heavy. If you are having something sent to a PO Box and are concerned with being able to fit it in your car, it will fit in a car out of the box. The stuffing is shipped in three small fabric cubes that are zipped at the manufacturer. The interior contents are in a vacuum packed plastic bag, but DO NOT start to unzip the cube until you are ready for them foam to expand. It starts expanding immediately. The liner and external cover each ship in their own bags inside one of the boxes. When you are ready to set up the product, make sure you fluff up the inside liner before you start adding the foam packets. I left part of the interior liner folded over and it was a big problem trying to get that part of the inner bag expanded once I realized all three cubes of stuffing were not going to fit easily. The stuffing is heavy, so if you are too rough with the liner bag it could possibly tear. There have been some reviewers who said the stuffing they received as not enough to fill the bag. The stuffing I received had no trouble filling out the bag. By the following morning the beanbag was mostly expanded to its full size.Hint: Unizp the black fabric cubes as quickly as you can, as the stuffing will start to expand immediately. One of the cubes I had trouble with because of the pressure the foam was putting against it as it expanded. The plastic bags with the stuffing are zip tied. Make sure you keep track of the plastic ties so you don't lose jagged pieces that could puncture the liner down the line. You're probably going have some foam get loose while trying to get the plastic off the foam once inserted into the liner. Would not recommend you try and take the stuffing from the bag into the liner because it's going to be expanding the entire time. I had a hand vacuum on hand to track down the stray pieces. If you work quickly, there should be no issue getting the outside cover zipped completely. I had more issues with the interior liner back because I had to shift contents around while trying to close it up.Ownership Experience:The seating has firmed up over the first month, but still conforms to the shape of the person sitting or laying on it. This reviewer weighs over 200lbs and can sit comfortably for hours without "sinking" to the floor. The seating is a little low, so when standing back up you might need to lean forward a little more than regular seating. If you are laying near the edge, you might also need to do more of a roll to get up but it's a beanbag. The beanbag has space around it on all four sides, because I wanted to have seating I could sit on from any side. There has been no color bleed so far on either the carpet it overlaps with or the wood floor under the remainder of the beanbag. If you're not interested in the beanbag seating experience there are other beanbag like products that are stitched to feel more like regular chairs. If you are willing to spend about $400 on a beanbag chair, this is one you give some serious thought to. So far no complaints.
